War Crimes TV launches Video Sharing Website
(PRWEB) November 25, 2008
This week, Jean-Baptiste Mattei, France’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, says both sides, in the conflict of the Democratic Republic of Congo, are carrying out executions and torture in the east of the country. He called on both the government and the rebels to stop the violence.
War crimes, which include genocide or the mistreatment of prisoners of war, are unlawful acts committed during a war and considered in violation of the conventions of warfare. It is over one hundred and fort years since the first Geneva Convention on wounded soldiers came into force and yet today war crimes are still being practised.
“The aim of War Crimes TV is to facilitate the spreading of awareness of gross violations of human rights and allowing persons to report on them independently” said Frederick Johnson of War Crimes TV.
The War Crimes TV website allows users to upload appropriate videos and to start related blogs and forums. By developing an independent community against war crimes the website will expose war crimes using the power of the internet.
