  7. LittleWhiteShoes March 24, 2011 at 6:11 am

    @pohatuonuatahu im going to take a guess here and say it’s “all quiet on the western front”

  8. omg, this is so hard to watch…its so brutal and sad! i had to stop after seeing the people burning from the flame thrower…my god… T_T harsh and very sad!

  9. @pohatuonuatahu and systematicchaos8 The gas scene is from The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles “The War Years,” I want to say the episode is “Into the Furnace”

  10. @colbertLOTR91 Yes but the tank was made late in the war and was only prototype stages didnt come into affect until WW2. They also used blimps not airplanes they where developed in WW2 also.

    @colbertLOTR91

    Neither the tank nor the airplanes won the war. They did start to play an ever more important part at the end of the war though, with strategic bombers being developed and armored personel carriers and break through tanks. Had the war gone into 1919 and the planned invasion of Germany then we would have seen what those could do in offensive warfare.

    btw no shat there where rifles and machine guns but what where there names

  13. hank500thecool March 24, 2011 at 8:31 am

    although they had gas masks they made a bad dessicion gas masks didnt work well then and most of the time they failed there best disscion was to jump from the trench and try to charge the enemy trench id rather be shot then be kill by that dreaded gas

  14. @chwoekje it is from young indiana jones chronicles

  20. Machine Guns – that footage is from the 1930 movie ‘All quiet on the western front’
    An amazing movie well ahead of its times

  21. @ nintendofann
    you must have been very misled
    give us all one good, solid proof that this is wwii
    and we’ll still reject your opinions

  22. The special equipment and uniforms the germans developed in WW1 gave their flamethrower guys a creepy and outer world aspect, i think they look cool, but would not like to face battle against those guys.

  23. Remember that it was a “new” weapon (a modernized version of greek fire), the shock it caused was far more than the actual tactical impact.
