Five-Night Event Premieres November 15 at 9/8c —— WWII in HD is the first documentary to show World War II as it really was from the perspective of both sides, in full, immersive, HD color. Culled from rare color archival footage from an exhaustive worldwide search and converted to HD with a meticulous new technique, this series uses diaries and source documents to follow the personal stories of a handful of soldiers who fought in the major battles.

  6. Check out the book My Cousin Killed Hitler based on the story of Marshal Zhukov. It tells a family secret about him. If only Hitler knew that one of those he hunted became the hunter instead.

@GTAIVPC2 Ya man it’s some gritty stuff, definitely hits harder than any other WW2 show I’ve seen.

  16. Aww… This was the featured video in the suggestions bar of the last video I was watching. I clicked on it hoping it would be one of those youtube tv full episode things…

I loved this documentary. I am going to get it on Blueray and watch it again. Amaizing work History Channel. These are the shows that make your channel famous.

  18. @MrRomiq I loved it, Not so much of a appoinment, I thought it was when I saw the trailer, I LOVED THE SERIES! It’d show’d people who’d die, a jewish person and how’d he had to deal with it, A bomber pilot turning in a fighter pilot, and of course, a guy getting TRENCHES FOOT!

  19. @tommysuiter666 I know, I bought it like, 6 months ago and watched it over 200 times, and i’m still like ” I cannot believe that happened” Or “No way!!!” Or “THAT IS AWESOME, but yet sad….,”

Caught an episode of this on the History Channel one day, amazing documentary. Has some of the best and most intense footage I’ve ever seen. 5 stars.

  22. @jeffman3003 If you want to see the Russian battle why are you watching a BBC program? The reason you have only seen the Western Theatre of War is because you live in North America. It has less to do with ideology and more with bias, proximity, and who the audience is. You are the one who needs to expand your box, and not criticize a source for showing their perspective.

  23. @MrRomiq saw the series lat night…i was disaponted… it doesn’t show the war perspective of both sides. 85% only allies actions. very few reference about important battles of WW2. no arden, no stalingrad, no kursk… the series starts from december 1941after failure on moskow. the video editing and the sound are amazing

  24. This was a fantastic series. The detail they went into with providing the footage, the real time interviews, and the narration. Everything was magnificent.

  25. I never saw this series…
seems to have a better quality than Apocalypse-Second World War from National Geographic
